Acts 2:42
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. (NIV)
We’re a diverse, all-ages community committed to growing together through teaching, fellowship, and shared meals—just like the early church. We don’t pretend to have it all together, but we support one another, stay centered on Jesus, and keep moving forward in faith.
We believe that God in essence is one, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The three persons of the Trinity are distinct, perfectly unified and co-existing in perfect harmony, working together to create and sustain the world. God is ineffable, but we believe that a deeper understanding of the Trinity is an important part of understanding God and His purpose for us.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He is is the Word of God made flesh. Jesus was sent by God to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins that separates us from him. We believe that Jesus was not just a good moral teacher nor just a nice person but is the true way through which we come to God. We are called to be Jesus’ disciples, to live lives of holiness, and to share the good news of the gospel. We believe in the ultimate power of Jesus’ resurrection which gives us the hope of eternal life for all those who believe.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Trinity. We believe that the Holy Spirit is the source of our comfort, guidance, and strength. Among other important functions, the Holy Spirit helps us to understand and Bible and helps us to live out its teachings in our lives. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells in the believers, faithfully guiding, interceding for them and the church in their walk with God. We strive to allow the Holy Spirit to develop the godly qualities in our lives that he wants us to produce.
We believe in the divine inspiration of the Bible, that it is the true and inspired Word of God. We believe that the Bible is our standard for our lives, and its truth, integrity, and relevance are of utmost importance to living a faithful, healthy, meaningful life. By studying the Bible and by living out the Scriptures, the power of God’s word becomes self-evident. In the Bible, God uses stories and narratives as well as teachings to reveal his character, his interaction with people and deep truths to what it means to truly being human. We also understand that people can and have mis-used the bible, so we need to exercise humility through careful and thoughtful reading of scriptures.
We believe in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus was sent by God to save us and give us eternal life. Salvation is only possible through faith in Jesus and repentance of our sins. We understand that we are saved through grace and not by any works of our own. The Bible teaches us that no matter what mistakes we make, God’s love and grace are available to us. We believe that through this amazing grace, we are called to respond faithfully and sincerely to God’s word.
We believe in the importance of baptism. Baptism symbolizes a believer's commitment to biblical teachings, and it is our own participation in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We believe that baptism is a necessary (but not sufficient) aspect to Christian discipleship, and it is a profound way to proclaim our surrender our old lives to Jesus. Baptism is a sacred and meaningful event, and we are deeply committed to helping believers celebrate this important milestone in their journey of faith. By submitting ourselves to baptism, we are proclaiming our faith in Jesus and our desire to serve Him and others.
We believe that the Church is the living body of Christ and a holy assembly of believers, united in faith and love. We strive to be a community of believers who are united in our faith in Jesus Christ and in our commitment to serve Him and His kingdom. We are committed to loving God and loving others, and to be known for our love for one another. With the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we seek to be faithful disciples of Jesus and live out our faith through loving actions and service to our community and the world.
We believe in the power of prayer, both individually and corporately, as an expression of faith in God's work in our lives. Prayer is an essential part of a Christian life and is used to talk to God and to communicate with Him. We pray for guidance, strength, healing, protection, and for our families, friends, and community. Through prayer, we seek to deepen our understanding of God's will and His plans for our lives. Praying helps us grow closer to God and to gain a better understanding of His will and how we can best serve Him. When we pray, we open ourselves up to God and He will answer us in His own way and in His own time. Prayer is a beautiful and powerful way to communicate with our Heavenly Father and to seek His love and guidance.
